Текст песни: Mother Earth is pregnant for the third time For yall have knocked her up I have tasted the maggots in the mind of the universe I was not Brain is the third studio album by the American funk band Funkadelic, released by Westbound Records in July 1971. It was produced by band leader George Clinton and recorded at United Sound Systems in Detroit during late 1970 and early 1971. It was the final album recorded by the original Funkadelic lineup after its release, original members Tawl Ross, Billy Nelson, and Tiki Fulwood left the band for various reasons. Album 1971 10 Songs. Maggot Brain has a lot in common with contemporaneous works by Sly Stone and Jimi Hendrix, but Funkadelic wasnt a great black rock band, they were simply a great rock band. The album is celebratory, but crucially, it begins with the title track, nine mournful minutes given over entirely to guitarist Eddie Hazel, who wails at the heavens in a sublime and anguished expression of the human condition. Maggot Brain is the third studio album by the American Funk band Funkadelic, released in 1971 on Westbound Records. The album incorporates musical elements of Psychedelia, Rock, Gospel, and Soul music, with significant variation between each track. Maggot Brain Q&A. It appears as the lead track on their 1971 album of the same name. The original recording of the song, over ten minutes long, features little more than a spoken introduction and a much-praised extended guitar solo by Eddie Hazel. Radio disc jockey read more. Super Stupid тоже ничего. though the Mothership was well on its way already, Maggot Brain really helped it take off. The instrumental title track is the key reason to listen, specifically for Eddie Hazel's lengthy, mind-melting solo. George Clinton famously told Hazel to play like your momma had just died, and the resulting evocation of melancholy and sorrow doesn't merely rival Jimi Hendrix's work, but arguably bests a lot of it

Absolutely godawful indention in the record destroys the first track, but no other pops besides that. Still- it's fucking Maggot Brain! Be warned and beware!

Was nervous about getting this due to negative comments elsewhere online, but I have no issues with it whatsoever, great sounds.

Nice sounding pressing, no clics and pops or noticeable surface noise. The gatefold is also well printed. They've done a very good job.

Just got a brand new copy for cheap and have zero issues with it. I've done a spectral analysis and can confirm that this release is not based on the CD mastering, it makes full use of frequency past 22.1khz. I did a comparison to a pbthal rip of the original release and I personally like this mastering better for this newer reissue. It has better sound stage and presence, and maybe this is where all the complaints for the digital sound come from. I also had very little pops and clicks present in my copy, so I really don't know what the noisy pressing comments are coming from, maybe a copy from a bad batch? Anyways, I'm playing this with high end equipment so I can't speak for how this record would sound on a mid to low setup. but I personally am pleased with the sound on this release. The vinyl is nice, thick and comes in a sleeve with anti static lining. The cover does look like it's a digital reproduction in that some of the font doesn't blend in with how the cover looks, and it looks like it might have some digital compression. I don't have an original cover to compare it with, but it's still really nice overall.

Noisy pressing - non-fill on intro and then pops and crackles throughout. If you like listening to your music next to a roaring fire or whilst cooking popcorn, this pressing is for you. Otherwise, avoid.

As macko77 said, definitely not a disaster, sounds digital, but probably better than the 4 Men With Beards pressings. =/

This peach coloured vinyl sounds ok (definitely not a disaster) but I get the feeling it's been mastered from a CD. Not as punchy, earthy, organic and full sounding as a previous vinyl copy I have (Westbound Records SEW 002 Germany 1990 which sounds great). Slightly less bass presence.

Maggot Brain has always had a lot of tape hiss (if that is what your hearing), I think it's due to the original master. Funkadelic's early albums have never had the best mastering (maybe too much LSD? or just a tight production budget, who knows), even on the original pressings. Their mastering got more polished by the time Cosmic Slop came out. So I wouldn't blame all of the noise on this specific pressing.

Mine is very noisy during Eddie Hazel's amazing guitar intro. Perhaps just a mediocre pressing all around. :(

I agree. It sounds good, but almost certainly mastered from digital.
