Album

Mezzanine is the third studio album by English electronic music group Massive Attack, released on 20 April 1998 by Circa and Virgin Records. Produced by Massive Attack and Neil Davidge, it saw the duo expanding their trip hop sound to electronica stylings, with diverse influences from new wave, rock, hip hop, and dub music. Mezzanine topped the charts in the United Kingdom, Australia, Ireland, and New Zealand, becoming the group's most commercially successful album to date. It spawned four singles. Massive Attack are an English trip hop group formed in 1988 in Bristol, consisting of Robert 3D Del Naja, Grant Daddy G Marshall and formerly Andy. On Mezzanine, Massive Attack tried to escape trip-hop. They nearly tore themselves apart and made its defining document instead. Mezzanine remains the best of Massive Attacks albums its stresses making it resistant to the dating that has marred earlier work. Its the dark heart of their back catalogue. Mezzanine will be 20 years old now this April. I don't know about you but I definitely feel a bit older having typed that. Mezzanine was my gateway drug into not only Massive Attack but into alternative and electronic music in general. Текст песни: Im a little curious of you in crowded scenes And how serene your friends and fiends We flew and strolled as two eliminated gently Why dont you close your eyes and reinvent me You knew you had a heart made of free to Massive Attack Mezzanine Angel, Risingson and more. 11 tracks 63:26. Mezzanine, released in 1998, is the third studio album by British trip hop group Massive Attack, released on 20 April 1998. It was produced by Neil Davidge along with the group. The album was released on Virgin Records singles from the album include Risingson, Teardrop, Angel and Inertia Creeps. Mezzanine features the talents of long-time Massive Attack collaborator Horace Andy, along with guest vocalists such as Elizabeth Fraser. Mezzanine marked the parting of band. Dj mae. Massive attack mezzanine. Massive Attack. Electronic 1998. The beetle on the cover is a good indicator of the menace inside. Tempos crawl. Trip-hop eventually became a 90s punchline, a music-press shorthand for overhyped hotel lounge music. And Portisheads 97 self-titled saw the stress-fractured voice of Beth Gibbons envisioning romance as codependent, mutually assured destruction while Geoff Barrow sunk into his RZA-noir beats like The Conversations Gene Hackman ruminating over his surveillance tapes. This was raw-nerved music, too single-minded and intense to carry an obvious timestamp. By 1998, Bristols finest, Massive Attack, were regarded as among the best artists of their generation. The collective had impressed with both Blue Lines and Protection, taking their audience on a particularly British post-rave adventure, at turns blissed-out and somewhat dark in nature. In the years since Mezzanines release, producer Neil Davidge has expressed his frustration over what he felt was a messy recording process. Despite this, the album offered a highly distinctive mix of trip-hop and post-punk guitars not so much in the name of big beats block-rockin beats, but, rather, used to create something more sullen. Released April 20, 1998. Mezzanine Tracklist. Angel Lyrics. Tricky had split and three years had passed since Massive Attacks last proper album, but Mezzanine returned the Bristol collective to prominence. Cocteau Twins' Elizabeth Fraser was the designated chanteuse, and her icy voice stands out against the earthy backdrops of songs such as Teardrop. Mezzanine Q&A
