Album

The Comsat Angels were an English post-punk band from Sheffield and Doncaster, England, initially active from 1978 to 1995. Their music has been for a Miracle is the debut album by The Comsat Angels, released 5 September 1980 on Polydor Records. The entire album was recorded in 10 days. Frontman Stephen Fellows explained how they were able to accomplish this: We were totally organised. Arrangements, tempos and all the lyrics were sorted out before we went in. But he wasn't quite happy with everything, and in a 2002 interview, said, The thing that bugs me most about the records is my singing, particularly on the first album. Songs in album The Comsat Angels - Waiting For A Miracle 1980. The Comsat Angels - Missing In Action. The Comsat Angels - 'Baby'. The Comsat Angels - Independence Day. The Comsat Angels - Waiting For A Miracle. The Comsat Angels - Total War. The Comsat Angels - On The Beach. The Comsat Angels - Monkey Pilot. The Comsat Angels - Real Story. The Comsat Angels - Map Of The World. The Comsat Angels - Postcard. Waiting for a Miracle is a sorcerous first album, at least once it sinks in, after short-to-long phases of puzzlement, bemusement, and fascination. Its songs of romantic ruin, paranoia, and doubt are spare, inelastic, and ceaselessly on edge. Even when the songs are at their bounciest and most alluring, they have an insular and alien quality. The Comsat Angels had its catalogue rescued twice in its history, for the first time in 2007 by Renascent a label that died all of a sudden, and now once again. Just like the last time, each album has all the b-sides, outtakes, and demos. Waiting for a Miracle and the band's second album Sleep No More have been two of my all time favorite albums since the early eighties with SNM being my all-time favorite hands down - If you're into Joy Division, The Chameleons, the early Cure albums, Bauhaus, Siouxsie, Sisters of Mercy Comsats, with stronger label support they never
